Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “küçümencik sindirilebilirler”) tanımlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine destelanmasıyla oluşan güdük polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino asit sözıntısı ile başkası arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” yahut peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (yahut çok nüshada polipeptit zir birimi barındırır). Gerçek fark peptitlerin güdük, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi sırasında her amino asit, diğer amino asite kalıcı, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle destelanır. Polipeptid gestaltsına hoşgörüsüzlan amino asitlerin her biri gestaltya peptid destelarıyla destelanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu sırasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir deniz çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Yaklaşık bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Aşina en uzun polipeptit, ortalama 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda mevcut “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine hoşgörüsüzlan amino asitlere sözıntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki sözıntı, bağ yapmamış, sere serpe amino grubu barındırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin diğer ucundaki sere serpe α-karboksil grubu olan sözıntıevet C ucu adı verilir.
